I'm a journalist who reviews books and writes about American history, culture, identity, and politics. I worked for a year at the Washington Post, where I covered race and identity. My writing has also appeared in the Los Angeles Times, the Boston GlobePOLITICO, the Los Angeles Review of Books, Public Books, the Chicago Review of BooksHarvard Magazine, the Texas Tribune, the Arizona Republic, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and ABC News. My work has been featured on MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Show and All In With Chris Hayes, and I have discussed my reporting across national and regional media.

I'm interested in reviewing forthcoming fiction and nonfiction, particularly by authors of color. Immigration and diaspora literature are especially welcome. For my complete book review portfolio, visit my BookMarks page.

Originally from Tucson, Arizona, I graduated from Harvard University with an A.B. in English literature and South Asian studies. After that, I earned an M.Phil. in modern and contemporary English literature at the University of Cambridge, where I studied as a Gates Cambridge Scholar. I am currently a doctoral student in English literature at Brown University.
